Refreshing red wine with fruit

Anyone who has ever been on holiday in Spain has probably drunk delicious and refreshing sangria.

Sangria is red wine mixed with various fruits. It is served ice cold, especially on hot summer days.

There are various recipes. Often, different liqueurs and other alcoholic beverages are added. However, today we are making the light version with less alcohol.
Ingredients

0.7 litres red wine
2–3 tablespoons sugar
1 cinnamon stick
1 lemon
3 oranges
1 apple
1 peach
0.2 litres lemonade
50 ml orange liqueur

The preparation


Step 1:

Pour the red wine and lemonade into a large jug (at least 2 litres).

Step 2:

Slice the lemon and one orange and dice the apple and peach. Set aside one slice of lemon and one slice of orange for garnishing. Juice the other 2 oranges and pour the juice into the jug. Add all the fruit.

Step 3:

Stir everything together and then season to taste with the orange liqueur, cinnamon and 2–3 tablespoons of sugar.

Step 4:

Place the sangria in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. Serve ice cold with ice cubes and garnish with the slice of lemon and orange.
